Find Your Place in the Sun
A Tropical Paradise
In Florida, we believe that sunshine is good for the soul – and here in South Florida, we’re lucky to have an average of more than 240 days of sunshine a year. And with sunshine, comes a tropical climate where we experience summer highs of 90 degrees and cozy winter lows of 58 degrees. This means we can spend more time outdoors enjoying the sun, surf, sand and everglades year-round. As with most of Florida, we also enjoy rainy days (but we’re never lacking for ways to pass the time) and are well equipped to keep our community safe during hurricane season.

Staying Safe During Hurricane Season
South Florida’s location on the Gulf of Mexico means that hurricanes will make their way to our shores. Hurricane season is from June 1 to November 30. However, we’re well-prepared to keep our community safe during harsh weather. Working closely with the National Weather Service, the state of Florida created a disaster supply kit checklist here. The National Weather Service’s Wireless Emergency Alerts also offer real-time weather updates during hurricane season.

Save it For a Rainy Day
Some days, there’s no avoiding the rain. Fortunately for South Florida residents, there’s no shortage of ways to pass the time while you wait for the rain to stop. Whether you’re energizing your mind at the Frost Science Aquarium & Planetarium, unleashing your inner child at a Hoffman’s Chocolates chocolatier class, or tasting your way through Funky Buddha Brewery’s tap list, there’s sure to be something to keep you entertained.
