Building a Foundation for Learning
Award Winning Education Options
Providing top-notch education for your children is crucial when choosing a place to call home. South Florida is home to a strong foundation of K-12 schools built just for future mathletes, marketing experts and doctors alike. Our schools enroll more than 700,000 students annually who speak more than 100 different languages. And even though we’re home to some of the largest school districts in the country, we average about 17 students per teacher – meaning your child will continue to get an individualized and high-quality education while surrounded by a diverse set of mindsets and cultures. We’re building the leaders of tomorrow – who can safely be and become who they want to be within our schools.

High-Caliber Public Education
South Florida is home to four major public school districts – Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Broward County Public Schools, Monroe County School District and the School District of Palm Beach County. These schools educate more than 700,000 students and boast graduation rates exceeding the national average of 88%. Broward County even has four high schools ranked in the top 5% of high schools in the U.S. by U.S. News and World report. From coding to technical programs, foreign exchange initiatives and energetic fitness classes, our public schools are providing equal access to our future leaders and making an impact on our community.
Specialized Private Education
South Florida offers nationally acclaimed private schools, with the No. 2 private high school in Florida, Pine Crest School, located in Fort Lauderdale. There are also plenty of Montessori schools in South Florida, including Montessori Academy of Broward. Our private schools provide students with access to the top STEM programs in the nation and advanced learning opportunities while maintaining a small student-to-teacher ratio.
An Individualized Approach to Education
Interested in a more hands-on approach to education? South Florida offers a variety of charter and specialized schools, including the No. 1 charter elementary school in Florida, Somerset Academy Elementary School South Miami Campus. Charter schools are some of the fastest growing school choice options in Florida and enroll over 300,000 in the state of Florida.
Our K-12 options also provide specialized curriculum for students with special needs, like South Florida Autism Charter Schools, which provides students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders with education and therapeutic services.
Choosing What’s Best For Your Child
In 2017, the state of Florida passed the “School Choice” law, which allows parents to enroll their child in any K-12 public school that still has capacity for additional students. Interested in learning more? Check out the Florida Department of Education’s website.
